Paul and Bill, I appreciate the clarifications on the sheer/deck joint.

Regarding the hot glue residue, well, I didn't want to sand it because I'm tempted to NOT varnish the interior space, as I had similarly done with previous boat. It's not like it gets a lot of sunlight, either in use, or in storage or transport. Maybe varnish would help with abrasion resistance on the floor?

I wonder if this is a case where others have had a similar preference, or if I'm just plain wrong...

: A light sanding won't hurt the epoxy. Once the glue is gone you are going to
: put on at least one coat of varnish, and that will restore the shine to
: any areas where your sanding has dulled the finish a bit.
