: What should I use for filling, I have used wood putty but solar lux stain
: what I'm using doesn't want to cover it?????
: Thank you everybody

Well- don't sweat it too much if your putty is dry and doesn't match. Even if you were going to use an oil-based stain it wouldn't have covered the putty either. If your putty is already on, the best thing to do is tint a tiny bit of epoxy and paint over your puttied areas with an artist's brush. What to tint it with- there are epoxy colorants that may get you close, and you may find that if you're using a dark dye you can just use black. If not, there are some colorants that can be used with epoxy, such as Mixol. I'm not sure about Solar Lux, so check with them and your epoxy manufacturer. Do tests first to make sure you've got a good match or it will be frying pan/fire. Then just do your layup on top of it.

As for Joy's Green kayak- I had the same thing after I applied a full layup of epoxy, even after testing it on my dye color on a sample. I used West 105/207, and I talked to them and they said that their product has a "greenish" tint under certain conditions. I just looks green to me, but since my dye color was fairly red it simply made it more brown than I had planned. They have/are in the process of changing the formula to make it "water white," but the West people I've spoken to say they think it has a bit of a blue tint now. I'd prefer blue to green...
