Do a test staining with epoxy first. On my Petrel, I stained it a nice charcoal color - you could still see the grain - then when I put the epoxy on, it turned a nasty green color. So now it is solid black. I like it, but no one knows it is a stripper, and my husband's gets all the compliments!
