: Contemplating my first SoF project. In the exploring stage. Pondering whether
: to pursue a wood stick or aluminum tube frame. Have the tools for either
: approach. Not really concerned about authenticity (guessing had the Inuits
: an electric bandsaw at their disposal, they might well have done things a
: bit differently) or making it a take-a-part boat.

: Guess my main concerns are overall weight and structural rigidity/flex of
: wood vs. aluminum. Wondering what kind of hit it can deflect before it
: permanently bends and if there are other factors/concerns I should be
: taking into account. I'd be grateful for any advice to be offered.

Is this a Yost style SOF (plywood ribs) or a traditional SOF (steam bent ribs)or perhaps a Baidarka?
