Hello Craig I built the Pax from plans. I kept it stock size at 20'. I think you could stretch it if you wanted. The plans use offset dimensions and you could space the stations out to add length. I feel like if I built Pax again I would concentrate on light weight construction. I built a hybrid version of the Pax. I used redwood and cypress 3/16 by 5/8 strips. The glass was 4oz one layer only. I would recommend 3mm ply where the plans call for it. I would make the fillets as small as possible. Don't go big with an end pour just use a wedge of wood glued in place.

This is a fast kayak. The lighter you can build the faster she will be. If you like marathon racing you will enjoy the Pax. I built it for the Phatt Water Challenge a 42.5 mile race on the Mississippi river. It performed much better than I do.

Go ahead and build you will enjoy the process Clayton P.
