What you want is 1/8" thick rollers. Anything more than that - like the common 1/4" size - holds too much varnish and increases the likelihood of runs and sags. I'll have to check my local auto body supplier for thin rollers. Hopefully they'll be cheaper than West Systems epoxy rollers, which are what I've been using.

I've also found that it's better to cut these in half and use a narrow roller frame, rather than the full 7" width. It fits the narrow facets and curves of the skin better, but still allows me to cover large areas quickly.
