What about "Val Oil"? I have some that I use on tool handles, the ingredients are: Alkyd resin, Urethane-alkyd Resin, Mineral Spirits, and Xylene. Claims to "seal wood, metal and masonry"! Do you think it would be ok for a SOF?

: Avoid linseed oil as it id food for mildew!.
: I think danish oil has linseed oil in it but I may be mistaken. I use pure
: tung oil sealer and then a coat or two of tung oil on my SOF frames. A lot
: of SOF builders do the traditional thing and don't use anything.
