: Is there a wax

: Terrified scream -DON'T.
: You'll have all sorts of adhesion problems and they will end up everywhere
: any wax or similar ends up. Scrape/sand back to the wood carefully where
: it appears if it has created any irregularity before you mate hull and
: deck will do.

I am with JohnK on this
don't put wax on that boat.
If you have globs or drools no big problem.
I like to use a long board with sand paper glued on to smooth out the sheer edge. The length of the board helps provent sanding an unfair line.
If you glue the deck and hull in spots use a sharp box cutter if epoxy is green if it has cured some a fine pull saw will work. Then smooth it up with the long bord. Take your time and enjoy building.
