I think my biggest problem with rolling in the VJ was a broken hip support that I discovered after the fact. While hanging upside down, I couldn't brace on anything solid so I flopped down and couldn't get the upward momentum. I probably won't change the volume of the VJ to make it more easily rollable since I appreciate the extra space in the cockpit during my long wilderness paddling adventures. The NH is going to serve only as a fun low volume playboat. I might outfit it for ice running if it is more maneuverable than the VJ during icy river conditions...I will have to wait and see after it is launched. I have considered taking a rolling course this winter but because I work afternoon during weekdays, most course offerings don't work for me. More on that later.
