: It may be a bad idea, that is why I am asking. It's more idle curiosity right
: now. But that somehow seems to lead to me trying it down the road.....
: What started me thinking was Saturdays paddle. I took my boat up some creeks
: with a fair current. The fellow I was with had a short boat with more
: rocker. I was struggling because I just couldn't turn my boat and the
: current would push me where I didn't want to go. He could fairly easily
: turn his and do what he wanted.
: I have for a long time toyed with the idea of shorter boat with a fair amount
: of rocker for easy maneuvering in places like this and a drop down skeg
: for tracking when out in the open water. That's what lead me to this, of
: course a SOF is probably not a good choice for this boat, but I am still
: curious if it could be done and how.
Can you say rudder?
Actually might do something like the Necky Looksha Sport, with an over the stern skeg. Looks like a rudder hanging back there, cept it doesn't turn.
