Don't have any pictures because I don't think there is a wooden design around that can do what the best rotomolding companies have done. The problem is this. In molded plastic the possibilities are endless both for the features molded into the deck and for the contours of the underbody. Some of these hulls look as stabile as a log raft. They are taken out in the ocean to hook and land 100 lb. tunas.
Even tho' you are only interested in fresh water use having excellent stability means it will be much easier to get in and out with waders on.
If you are willing to have modest expectations a well chosen wooden hull will work just fine. Personally, I haven't seen any wood designs that challenge the all around utility of the best roto designs. And a stripper will probably cost as much.

: I have been a lurker all over the net in fishing forums and site - I admit
: it. I am dying to get into the kayak fishing craze but am not able to
: purchase a prefabbed-plastic-thing. I don't like their price and I would
: rather put some of my amateur woodworking skills to task.

: I am used to bass fishing from a solid bass boat and trout fly fishing while
: wading. I am looking for a wooden kayak alternative that I can take pride
: in the craftsmanship and get to some of the smaller backwaters that TN
: affords.

: I am looking for a plan that affords the following: * Either sit on top or
: larger open style
: * ~ 12'
: * Ability to outfit w/ rod holders, anchor system, and accessories
: * Light and easy to transport

: Can anyone point me in a direction for a specific fishing style kayak? I am
: getting frustrated and turned around trying to find something that has
: fishing in mind.

: Thanks in advance,

: Todd
