I use a utility trailer now set up for 3 boats and it sits nicely behind the car and has very little windage, something that can't be said for trailers with tree's. I can carry an extra 2 or 3 on the roof if needed for things like a car shuttle. For me at least I'd rather not have to deal with a trailer with a tree all the time for the odd times that you'd use it. Also once the tree is added, you can't remove the boats and use the trailer for much of anything else, mine's set up to move motorcycles too as well as plywood etc. The wood could be loaded from the side I suppose, easier from the rear.
