If you would have said this up front it would have avoided all those complicated answers.
In the past, the companies that designed and manufactured glass canoes all had prototype shops to try out new hull shapes. The prototypes were always constructe from strips and glass because it was fast, easy and could accomodate about any shape they could conceive of.
