Weather- or lee cocking is a function of trim... weight forward of center of bouyancy results in weather cocking, too far aft has you lee cocking. Weight distributed just right results in neutral tendency, which basically means you get blown sideways and start making ferry angles a way of life. No free lunch!

One of those Greenland skin-on-frame books, Morris or Cunningham, shows how to make a balance board for yourself. Do it, you'll NEVER regret it. Use it to place your CG on the boat's CoB, and you're in good shape ... until you start loading a bunch of crap in your boat. :D

The balance board is also superb for easily locating foot braces, back band, etc., perfectly. I kill people who come to close to mine.

Cheers, Kurt
