Shop: Moveable forms

I would like to build a double in my garage this summer, but it will barely fit. Is it possible and workable to place the form on lockable casters so it can be moved when necessary?
Also, I plan on ripping the strips with my bandsaw. It would save a lot of material and is a much safer way to rip long flexible strips. Does the resulting rougher texture create a problem, or will it be sanded enough to not make that an issue. I also have a planer if the roughness is an issue, but that introduces another question about the planer's tendency to compress the surface wood fibers.
