Well, I just finished taping the second inside seam of my Greak Auk. Though it was not overly pleasant to have my head stuck in with all the fumes, I managed to get through it without a dose of Gougeon Brothers' Durable Hair Gel. I made up a tool that made the task of laying the tape easier. I taped a medium sized "bulldog" binder clip on the end of a strip. I wrapped the strip in masking tape to keep it from pulling on the tape. I then tied a string onto the exposed "leg" of the clip. I ended up drilling a hole in the strip near the clip to pass the string through and improve the leverage. To put the tape in place, I clipped the tape end into the clip, pushed the tape into the bow or stern. I was able to pull the tape tight to position it exactly where I wanted it, then pull the string to release the tape. I was able to get both layers of tape all the way to the ends with a minimum of hassle.

I just have the outside seams, a fill coat, and fitting out to complete before I am on the water. My wife is even using the "g" word to describe the workshop (formerly garage).
