Great idea, Marcel!

For smoothing tape, after it's rolled out, I cut out a 2" x 1" oval out of the side of a yogurt container. I staple right through the middle of it and into the end of a strip. Makes a super "reach squeegee"!

It also spreads better and cuts the amount of resin you use on subsequent fill coats.

: Well, I just finished taping the second inside seam of my Greak Auk. Though

: Gel. I made up a tool that made the task of laying the tape easier. I

: strip. I wrapped the strip in masking tape to keep it from pulling on the
: tape. I then tied a string onto the exposed "leg" of the clip. I
: ended up drilling a hole in the strip near the clip to pass the string
: through and improve the leverage. To put the tape in place, I clipped the
: tape end into the clip, pushed the tape into the bow or stern. I was able
: to pull the tape tight to position it exactly where I wanted it, then pull
: the string to release the tape. I was able to get both layers of tape all
: the way to the ends with a minimum of hassle.

: I just have the outside seams, a fill coat, and fitting out to complete
