I have that for my brother-in -law's house for deck (not a boat.)
The stuff is made from wood fiber and thermoset plastic. Trex is made for outdoor and supposted to be waterproof. I have read that in rare occation, the exposed wood fiber will rot. The same acticle shows a picture of mushroom growing on the shaded side of a Trex deck.
In another acticle, a boat owner replaces a rot out teak deck with Trex to imitate the look of bleached teak. He only has it for a year. Everything seems to be OK.
How well it may work? Take your pick from others experience and please let us know yours.
