Chip,
You're right, HDPE can easily be cut, shaped, and drilled to make all sorts
of fabrications. The LINK below is an example of some of the things that
can be done with this material. I use 1/8", 1/4", 1/2", and 1" for various
applications. And yes, it's very durable.
