I freehand painted them onto the wood before glassing with acrylic hobby paint, ( Testers paint.) I was going to do something from the Northwest Indian culture and started some research, but I didn't want the "Locals" to sink me for putting something too spirtual on my kayak. ( I was in Alaska at the time.) So I did the hummingbird and tried to make it in that style. The "Little Auk" is very stable ( thank you Nick Schade,) and I'm not going in rough water with this one, however the next one...
