Greetings:
Things are kinda slow around here; atrocious weather prevents boatbuilding. So I thought I'd run my latest scheme past higher intellects to see if they can find any problems with it.
My plan to install foot braces in my Mill Creek 13s without drilling holes through the hull is simple, cheap and lightweight: a cedar block on each end of the rail, with cut-outs to accept the ends, to be epoxied into place inside the hull. The rails shall remain removable, but small aluminum tabs screwed into place over the ends will prevent any unintended departures. With any luck, the photo will explain it all. The full story is near the bottom of Page 7 on my website.
Anyone see anything I'm missing?
Cheers,
Kurt Maurer
