Strip: Progress on the Explorer and questions *LINK*

Hello all, I'm almost ready to start stripping the deck on the hybrid. I have to start some where...
1 What is the concensus on techniques to start stripping? I think I saw..Jay's site?.. some short strips tacked or screwed to the sheer clamp, then removed at a later point when the deck is stable? (I'm Building staple-less) How about running the strips off the edge to get trimmed with a contrast strip/edge? I'm keeping the stripping pattern simple, as I am planning a veneer inlay and maybe something else interesting I HOPE!!
2 Had some trouble with epoxy (Raka) running down the vertical sections of the hull inside. Even though I thought I had the excess squeegee'd off. When I got up the next AM there were sags and some puddles. I scraped off the sags, and the puddles weren't too bad. How can I avoid this? Just want to avoid problems on the outside, or the next one...I am an addict!
Thanx, Steve
