In Response To: Material: Raka Glass (grant)

Hello, Grant-

I've just finished glassing my third boat. I used RAKA's 3.25 tight on the inside and outside of the deck, and one layer of 3.25 on the bottom of the hull, with a half layer of 6 oz. on top of that. I used 1.8 oz kevlar (RAKA) on the inside of the hull.

I cannot say much about the actual operational performance, but the 3.25 was a pleasure to work with. It used significantly less epoxy than the regular weave 4- and 6 oz stuff I used on the first boats. I used MAS slow, FWIW. The 3.25 really conforms to curves nicely. Looks great-more or less like regular 4 oz.

Have fun! Mike
