I appreciate all your comments and have learned quite a bit here.

Thanks especially to you Greg for your insight. I will certainly check out that link for Mr. Petersons comments. The picture is a beautiful boat, but maybe to the extreme for my purposes. I just don't want to be sitting in a boat that's 8 or 9" above the surface. I'll be doing a lot more reading here while on vacation and hopefully starting my cut out soon.

I think I've learned quite a bit from all this information and have a little better idea of where I'm going with this. I hope to start cut out of the two smaller boats this week and get rolling ( no pun intended ) on these projects. I'm sure that from the ideas here I will still be experimenting somewhat, but I will certainly be in the ballpark with what I build from this.

Guess I should get over and lurk on the Greenland/Qajaq site and gleem some info over there once in a while. Good to hear from all of you on this.

P.S. ( As far as practicing with other boats..... we don't have too much of a selection over here in the San Juaquin Valley.... This is a Jet Ski and Powerboat/Skiboat community and kayaking/canoeing has not yet taken off as it has in other areas. Will do what I can.... )
