I both some 2x12 spruce they use for facia boards in building houses at Learned Lumber in Hermosa Beach. It has some pin knots and very tight grain. It is not as light as Sika, about like medium weight pine. I only got about 12' of clear stringer pieces, had to put scarfs. They went on the ribs nice and fair. The current price for 2x10 is $1.41 per foot. The other option is Aircraft Spruce in Corona,$$$$ put certifed. 800.861.3192.
