I completed my Guillemot-L in about eight months and it came out better than I ever expected. Its mostly WRC from Home Depot and the light strips are aspen. I used 5 ounce Raka cloth, 350/127 resin, and Helmsman Spar Urathane. I used a straight 2x4 for an internal strongback set up on saw horses.

I purchased full size plans from Nick and read his book cover to cover many times. The book provides detailed instructions that are very easy to understand. I have built a Pygmy Arctic Tern from a kit, but this was my first strip built boat. I didn't do alot of planning for the pattern before I started the stripping process. There was a lot of standing and looking at the forms and then saying, "Hey, this might look good." The flag insert was an idea that came late in the stripping process. I am former military and I got the idea from the subdued insignia worn on BDUs. I'll try to post a few pics in this thread. Although most of the construction techniques were learned in the book and on the board, there are a few that I made up and I'll be glad to share them.
