Hi,

I am thinking about building an open kayak or small canoe using Corex fluteboard - I am not sure if the brand is the same in your areas - it's the extruded polypropolene sheeting connected by ribs, often used for signs.

I recall someone else trying this and I would like to check the stock sizes and joining techniques used, however I can't find the link.

Does anyone know if stringers are needed to give stiffness or increase bonding area?

The stock I am thinking of using is 5mm, Liquid nails construction adhesive and silicon sealant to fill exposed cores.

Any help would be appreciated.
