Hello all. A little advice needed here... Sold the snowmobile, so instead of going stir crazy, planning on diverting that energy into building a kayak. I have some wood working experience. I've used a "recreational" kayak (Dagger Bayou) for the last three years and I am ready to step it up a notch..or two. I have read other messages on this board, but didn't find exactly the info needed. Hate to waste people's time...sorry if this info has already been covered. I am 6'1", around 230#, 12 shoe size (feet barely fit in the dagger). I think I'd like to do a S&G kit for my first boat to try. Never rolled a boat but I would like to build one that is capable of that. I fish and intend on doing a few 2-3 day camping trips per summer. Will be in some surf in Cape Cod Bay a few times a year. Wondering what type, hard chine, multi chine, how long, beam, etc? What company (looking at Pygmy and CLC right now)?? Would like to bulid a rugged boat that will have performance that I will not grow out of right away. I will be building in a basement. any advice will help....thanks..Jeff
