In Atlantic Coastal Kayaker magazine they always publish the winners of the Blackburn challange. 22 mile around Cape Ann, MA.
The interesting thing is all the various boats that are used. Everything you could imagine with no sense what-so-ever to the race results other than, if you're fit and strong and determined, you'll do well.
In the pro class however, it always dedicated racing machines, X-Par missels, Wave XL's etc. 19" wide x 20' type of kayaks, powered by ATHLETES! 0 stability.
