The first boat I built was a CC-17 probably 17 years ago (seems like 40 years ago) It is still at my brothers and on occasion I paddle it. No bad traits. It carves nice, decent stability, decent tracking. My only negative is that the deck is high and I wack my knuckles on the shear. I'm just used to lower volume boats and it's a bit "tanky" for what I like to paddle. But for a 24" wide hard chine basic kayak, no problems. When you roll it, you know you are rolling a 24" wide box.
