: Hello All,
: I am building an OI with 3/16" strips and I was wondering if I could use
: 3/16" thick strips for the coming riser or should should I cut some
: more 1/4" pieces? Is there much loss in strength? I would suppose
: not, since the wood just gives it the shape and the strength comes from
: the glass.

This area takes a lot of abuse and you'll be putting your weight on it all the time. If what you have is 3/16th strips, use them, and give the area an additonal layer (or 2) of glass cloth. This isn't a large area, so the added glass can come from scraps and the additonal weight is neglgible.
