I applied the first coating of HBN/epoxy to the hull of the VJ today. HBN is considered to be the "white" graphite. I erred when I began the application - it was cold in the garage so the mix went on kind of thick. I had to use a spreader to get it on thinly. The surface of the hull cooled the epoxy quickly upon contact. Since then I have turned on the heater in the garage so that the next application will go on a lot easier.

As you can tell from the images, I will have to do several coats to cover up the graphite coating. I was a little disappointed at how much difficulty I had getting a uniform mixture. The fine HBN powder clumped up during mixing so I had to do a good job of it to get a good mix. The final color of the mixture is what I call "polarbear" white. There is a slight yellow tinge to it from the color of the epoxy. I'll keep posting images as I add more coatings.
