Paul,

American Traders is a commercial builder that makes wooden canoes with insanely thin(like 1/16", I saw one boat that almost glowed because the strips where nearly translucent) wide (at least 2") strips brass riveted to ribs, glassed on the outside only. Absolutely stunning, but pricey!
