I thought about using the urethane glue for the stems. Its strength is similar to epoxy or near enough to not matter. It is also easier to use, that's for sure. I chose to use epoxy because the outside stem laminations require some time to get them manipulated just so. Urethanes have a faster setting up time and I wanted to avoid making a big sticky, foamy mess. But the job was quick enough that a lamination at a time would be a cinch if using Gorilla Glue.
Incidentally, the Titebond urethane glue is probably the easiest "plastic" glue to work with, I've found. The foamy squeezeout is super easy to scrape away. You definitely can't scrape away cured excess epoxy. Or even wood glue.
