: I was sanding after fiberglassing. Some little white pin spots showed up. I
: tried to sand them out but i ended up sanding through the glass. The spot
: I sanded to bare wood is on the deck and is about the size of a credit
: card. Is it really nessesary to put a fiberglass patch here?

: I did patch it. Just wondering if it was all that important. I dont see how
: it would be important if I sealed it good.

Little tiny pinholes don't really matter, hard to abrade those spots. A hole the size of a credit card though you could abrade thru bare epoxy, with the patch you won't be able to do that. If you ever got water to the point it could get to the wood you'd have a big mess that you really want to avoid.
