I was sanding after fiberglassing. Some little white pin spots showed up. I tried to sand them out but i ended up sanding through the glass. The spot I sanded to bare wood is on the deck and is about the size of a credit card. Is it really nessesary to put a fiberglass patch here?

I did patch it. Just wondering if it was all that important. I dont see how it would be important if I sealed it good.
