I also had a epoxy problem with my kayak, My second fill coat turned white on one side of the kayak, I waited, no change, heated it slowly no change. Finally at 12 in the morning, I pulled out the heat gun and pulled off the entire deck. (lots of heat, pull very very slow.) The next morning I pulled the ROS and the 80 grit out and sanded off the seal coat. No halos and it looks better then before. My new epoxy from Raka showed up tonight, so this weekend I will be glassing the deck again.

I would much rather fix a kayak then have a problem with it and try to live with it. I make kayaks because I like the art in it, If it was only about being on the water, I would have bought a plastic boat.

So my point is that if you think you need to fix something, go for it. You will learn something, it more then likely will turn out better, and it makes a great story around the campfire.
