This won't help, but I love to brag about my bandsaw. It's an early 1940's Delta I bought as near-junk for a song. It has stamped steel wheels (as opposed to cast wheels), a full tube frame (as opposed to the contemporary half-tube frame), and an old-fashioned, heavy steel stand and dust chute.

When I got 'er home, I immediately dissambled it to its component parts, cleaned, lubricated and painted (where applicable) and put 'er back together. I added new tires, cool blocks, a worklight, and a new cord to the (non-original) motor. I replaced only one ball bearing, then fired the old gal up. Smoooooooooth as a baby's butt! Then I added a Carter quick-release mechanism (I love it) and bought new blades (standard Olsen works fine for me).

This grand old machine performs better than any other 14-incher I have ever seen, and cost me less than $100. I must be living right.
