: Please note, that lowering the sheer WILL change the beam since the side
: panels has a bit of flare.

Thanks for that note. Hadn't thought of that.

: Your deck panels will be to big for the new smaller beam, and trying to fit
: the original sized deck panels to a smaller beam will be difficult and
: probably change the shape of the hull.

: I suggest you cut your deck panels a bit oversize, place them on the hull and
: run a pencil along the perimeter of the hull to mark the hull shape on the
: underside of the deckpanels. Then cut the deck panels to size.

I'll do that.

: Your modification sounds OK to me. I would do it the same way.

Cool.

Thanks for the input Lars, I hadn't thought about the flare.

I wonder if there are any other technical things I am missing, and if I am going to do something to adversely affect the way the boat paddles.

Has anyone put any peak into the fore and aft deck panels on this boat? I am wondering with flat decks if it will shed water well, if that matters, if it might mean riding a wave sideways broached or waves breaking over the deck would push the boat around more...I am considering whether I want to split the fore and aft deck panels and take up the slack from the narrower beam by giving those panels a slight ridge.

I'm also wanting to recess the cockpit, and maybe the hatches, especially if I end up with any peak in the deck. And I'm going to minimize cockpit volume by bringing the forward and rear bulkheads in, and do a day hatch I think. I'll probably be winging it mostly by the time I get to the deck. Have to see where the coaming goes. Thinking about possibly trying to intro myself to stripping with the cockpit recess, and coaming riser.
