Digital cameras are one of those techy things that you can often find discounted at auction sites (where the site is the seller, not ones like ebay where you don't know the seller) such as onsale.com, surplusauction.com, and others. You may also try one of the online comparison shoppers that looks at prices at several on-line retailers. As far as camera discount stores, B&H has a very good reputation, and Ihave also heard good things about Cameraworld. I would NOT buy from a retail camera store because the "retail" price and street price of cameras is very different. If you can wait, I would also try to get through the holiday season and see what discounts become available the 2nd week of January. Finally, look for bundles with photo programs such as Photodeluxe if you do not already have a photo program.
