My thanks to Bob Hysen for his reply. I agree that the design of a skeg is for tracking, however I wonder if a skeg, of greater than usual surface area, would be effective in resisting longitudinal roll tendencies and, consequently, contribute to stability ??? If so, where should it be located, and how operated?
