Here's another suggestion for you... try a _round_-face spokeshave. I used one on the outside of my Expedition Single (which as you may know has its fair share of concavities at the bow and stern), and wouldn't hesitate to use it on the inside as well. The only reason I haven't done so already is because I've packed things up for the winter - it's just too cold up here in Montreal to be working in an unheated area. Anyway, properly set, the results are quite acceptable.

Hope this additional option doesn't overwhelm you too much. :-)
