I have built 3 Cape Charles 18s and a Tred Avon 21, all by the book as far as ply thicknesses go. However, the Tred Avon calls for 4mm for the deck, and it was a little more work to bend it down into place over the deck beams than the 3mm. Just call in a couple of friends that day to help and it will be no problem.
