Jim, It's a great boat. I built one for my wife, launched t 7/4/98. It's been paddled and loved my my wife, my son & myself. As the previous message noted - it's light, tracks well, carves turns easily, and can be built (actually assembled) in 8 - 10 hours. It was easy to build. I added extra hatches. It's been paddled in Barnegat Bay, NJ and on flat fresh water. It performed well in wind driven chop of 1 foot or more. I found the "factory" to be helpful & responsive to questions - it's an interesting place to visit if you're n the area. Look back in the bulletin board. There are a couple of people in the SF, CA area who have built them & paddle in the bay. Next year we're planning a trip to Newfoundland & will probably be doing some paddling along the way. Let us know what you decide.
