I can see from our stats that many of you have visited my web site and some are probably wondering what a "cowboy" boater, (sportfisherman charging around at 25 kts on a battlewagon), is doing in a such an aesthetic place as this.

Well, you can blame it on Brian C. for giving the clue that Guillermont was here, (Thanks Brian!), and the fact that I am becoming increasing interested in trying my own hand at building something of real beauty instead of just function. I'm always open to new challenges. Building a kayak, in the tradition that I see amongst you guys would certainly be a challenge!

My past professional career(s) encompassed 19 years as a master goldsmith and fine jewelry designer, (BFA UofH), and professional boating was a way of release and rejuvenation after getting rather burned out. I find myself gravitating back to my fine arts roots but un-willing to leave boating behind.

The "jewels" that I see you guys building, (and other wooden boat designs), tells me that there can be Heaven on Earth. Thanks for putting up with me!

Regards,

Patrick
