Right on Jay,

Here is a picture of what I used to copy my Necky. I couldn't believe when I put the stations on the strongback and stapled some strips on how fair it came out. I only needed to adjust 1 station (which is better than I have made out with some plans I traced). I made these out of 2 1x3's with a foam hot water pipe insulator squeezed in between. Then I put the 1/4" dowels and tighened down the nuts. It is easy to move them into place but they stay put. Like you said I only used 1/2 template. That way any mistakes would at least be symetrical. Worked great for me...
