Most people recommend using #10 canvas duck (15 oz. cloth) for the skin of kayak. while looking for this product a supplier made me aware of #12 canvas duck (10 oz. cloth) .Would this weight of canvas be strong enough for a kayak? If it is strong enough would it save any considerable weight in the overall skem of things? The cost of the #12 canvas was not much less then the #10 canvas.
