: comes with the plans. You may be obligated (legally or otherwise) to pay
: an additional amount for each additional boat you build with them. This is
: usually much less than the original set, so it's a small amount compared
: to the total cost of the boat.

My first boat was a CLC kit - the "small print" says they are selling me the plans/parts for one boat, and the "license" to build one boat. If you want to use the plans again, they have a $10 "licensing fee" for each additional boat built. A very reasonable charge for the work they put into developing the plans.
