hi Bert:
I can't comment on the $100.00 stuff, but I have used door skins for a S&G and will do it again when time permits. Good idea to select your sheets because there may be voids. A light behind the sheet might show up possible defects ,but even if one does make it's way onto a panel, you can fix it with 'glass.
