I was wondering if you could clarify you day hatch description. Where is it and how are you using the flx tube.

I put a day hatch in my Cheasapeake 17 (I put mine behind the rear bulkhead on the right - just behind my right elbow). - I came up with the idea after seeing the Dagger Sitka reviewed in Sea Kayaker mag.

I'd made up a little fabric pouch to secure under the day hatch (lots of small pockets inside the pouch). The fabric should work well because it will just push out of the way if I fully load the rear compartment.
